Monitors

Heartbeat monitors

Monitor cron jobs and background workers by having them ping you.

A heartbeat monitor watches for the absence of a signal. You tell Uptimix how often your job should run (5 minutes to 24 hours) plus a grace window (1 to 30 minutes), and call the monitor's unique ping URL at the end of every run:

At the end of your cron job or worker run

curl -fsS https://uptimix.com/api/heartbeat/<your-token>
  • No ping within the expected period plus grace: the monitor goes down and alerts fire.
  • The next successful ping brings it back up and sends recovery notices.
  • The ping URL is a secret; regenerate it by recreating the monitor if it leaks.

Put the ping at the end of the job, after the real work succeeded, so a job that starts but crashes still counts as missed.
